Tiamat
More actions
Commonly known as The Fivefold Tyrant, Mother of Ruin, and Sovereign of Scales
Tiamat is the embodiment of draconic supremacy, the living convergence of destruction, domination, and elemental fury. Born of the primordial essence of Arkunethax, she was among those who turned that stolen divinity against its source, helping to end the age of singular creation and usher in an era of claimed power.
Where other gods are worshipped, Tiamat is obeyed, or defied at great cost.
She is the author of chromatic dragons, red, blue, green, black, and white, each reflecting an aspect of her will. Through them, her influence spreads across the world, not as guidance, but as dominion enforced by strength.
To her followers, existence is not shared, it is contested. Power belongs to those who can seize it, hold it, and defend it.
“The world was not given to us. It was taken. That is why it is ours.” — Inscription attributed to the First Brood
The Five Edicts of Sovereignty
1. Dominion
To exist is to claim.
- Territory unclaimed is territory awaiting rule
- Weak ownership invites stronger hands
- What you control defines what you are
- Borders are drawn by those who can enforce them
Tiamat teaches that all things are meant to be ruled.
2. Power
Strength is the only truth that endures.
- Might is the foundation of authority
- Magic, strength, cunning, all are tools of dominance
- Power unused is power wasted
- Those who cannot defend what they have do not deserve it
There is no fairness, only strength measured honestly.
3. Greed
To desire is to ascend.
- Hoard what others cannot
- Wealth is proof of superiority
- Possession reflects worth
- Never be satisfied with what you have
To take is to prove your right to exist above others.
4. Supremacy
You are not equal. You are above.
- Dragons are the pinnacle of creation
- Lesser beings exist within your shadow
- Respect may be given, but equality is false
- Rule openly or rule from fear, but always rule
Tiamat’s children are not meant to coexist, they are meant to dominate.
5. Legacy of Blood
Your lineage is your continuation.
- Strength must be passed to the next generation
- Weak offspring are failures of will
- Bloodlines define power across time
- The brood is an extension of the self
Through her broods, Tiamat ensures her will never fades.
Alignment Tendencies
- Lawful Evil
- Neutral Evil
- Chaotic Evil (less common, often among white dragon lineages)
Tiamat does not enforce unity of behaviour, only unity of purpose, supremacy.
Rituals & Traditions
The Claiming
Territory is marked, often violently, as an act of devotion. To conquer land is to honour Tiamat directly.
The Hoard Rite
Accumulation of wealth is ritualised. Hoards are not merely possessions, they are expressions of identity and power.
The Brood Ascension
Young dragons or followers prove themselves through acts of dominance, securing their place within the hierarchy.
The Fivefold Invocation
Rituals calling upon one or more aspects of Tiamat’s elemental nature, fire, lightning, acid, poison, and frost.
Taboos
- Submitting without resistance
- Sharing power without gaining advantage
- Allowing weakness within one’s domain to persist
- Failing to expand or defend one’s holdings
- Treating lesser beings as equals
Tiamat does not punish cruelty. She punishes inferiority.
Clergy & Structure
Tiamat does not maintain a traditional clergy. Instead, her “faith” is expressed through hierarchies of power.
