Commonly known as The Quiet Veil, Lord of the Unseen Hour, and He Who Waits Between Breaths
Akasis governs the stillness that follows light, the spaces where sound dies, and the quiet truths that only emerge when the world is no longer watched. He is not darkness as evil, but darkness as absence, concealment, and reflection.
Where other gods demand to be seen, Akasis exists in what is overlooked. He is the patron of secrets, endings, subtlety, restraint, and the unseen movements that shape fate without recognition.
To his faithful, silence is not emptiness, it is clarity without distraction.
In many cultures, Akasis is misunderstood, associated with fear, death, or hidden malice. Yet among scholars, spies, monks, and certain orders of assassins, he is revered as a god of control, patience, and necessary obscurity.
“Only in silence do you hear what the world is trying to hide.” — Ser Caldrin Vey, Keeper of the Veil, 0441-2A
1. Stillness
Movement reveals. Stillness conceals.
- Speak only when it serves purpose
- Remain unnoticed when observation is more valuable than action
- The quiet man learns what the loud one never will
- Presence is strongest when it is controlled
To be still is not to be passive, but to be deliberate.
2. Concealment
Not all truths are meant for light.
- Secrets are tools, not burdens
- What is hidden holds power
- Reveal only what must be known
- Information given freely is often wasted
Akasis does not condemn deception, only careless exposure.
3. Patience
Time is the ally of the unseen.
- Wait for the moment others miss
- Act only when outcome is certain
- Rushed action invites unnecessary risk
- The night does not hurry, yet it always comes
Those who serve Akasis understand that delay is often strength.
4. Acceptance of Darkness
Darkness is not corruption, it is condition.
- Fear of the dark is fear of the unknown
- Learn what lies within shadow rather than fleeing it
- Not all that is hidden is evil
- Not all that is visible is true
Akasis teaches comfort within uncertainty.
5. Silence
Words diminish what silence preserves.
- Speak less, observe more
- Silence can end conflict where words would inflame it
- What is unsaid often holds greater weight
- Noise is the refuge of the uncertain
To master silence is to master presence.
Most followers lean:
- Neutral
- Lawful Neutral
- Neutral Evil, particularly among spies and assassins
Rarely chaotic. Rarely expressive. Akasis values control above all.
