Since then, numerous attempts have been made at strengthening the bonds and tied between the two former rivals, from cultural exchanges, settlement agreements, war-games and open trade agreements. These efforts have mostly been in vain, as the tensions and disagreements between the two nations continue to rise. One ongoing initiative between the two has been the Joint Naval Patrol Scheme (JNPS), where active members of the military, privateers, mercenaries and noble retainers are dispatched on naval vessels to guard the coastlines and expand naval cartography.
